Decorating and money

Well, am a twit or am I not! sigh :-(

I got various workmen in recently to quote for work on the house.

the quotes have come in - much much higher than I expected.

Meanwhile, my bank balance has shrunk; much much quicker than I thought. Personally, I blame the cats! Both Poco and Hontas have spent time at the vets recently, and it all adds up - several hundred pounds (and I don't really like them!) - (but please don't tell them, I try to keep it my little secret).

Also, while I've been thinking about it all, I've started stripping the hall wallpaper off, bit of a mess really and my mother is coming up to stay in a few weeks time!! What chaos! (and to think they trust the youth of the nation into my hands.. sigh)

So, what am I to do?

It's just about now that a little niggly memory about learning to live more simply starts to scratch at my thinking..

.. do you think that if I blog long enough it'll go away?

Hmmm, the shrinking of the funds and the expansion of the out-goings. Why does that happen? Is it connected with the continual expansion of the universe - something's got to give somewhere? :-)
